Why it’s helpfulA litter record connects each puppy to their parents and gives you one place for growth, care, and paperwork as the litter grows.
Step 1
Choose your starting point
Open Litters and choose Start a litter. Select Puppies are here for a litter that has already been born, or She’s expecting for an expected litter.
Look for Litters → Start a litter
A useful tipIf your first-litter setup is already saved, choose Continue setup to pick up where you left off.
Step 2
Add the parents
Choose an existing dam or add her name. Continue to the sire: choose one of your dogs, add an outside stud, or skip this step if you do not have the details yet.
Look for Dam → Sire
Step 3
Record the date you have
For a born litter, enter the whelp date. For an expected litter, choose the date type and enter that date. Then choose your Registry path so any relevant paperwork reminder stays with this litter.
Look for Date → Registry
Step 4
Review and create the litter
Check the parents, date, and registry details on Review. Add an optional litter label, then choose Create backdated litter or Create expectant litter.
Look for Review → Create backdated litter or Create expectant litter
Step 5
Bring the puppies into the record
For a born litter, open Add puppy and choose to create a puppy record or add an existing record. Edit litter also lets you check the litter’s puppy entries. For an expected litter, use Record birth when the puppies arrive.
Look for Add puppy → Edit litter
A useful tipCreating a litter and activating a puppy’s pupID are separate steps. Review the activation details shown before confirming a new puppy record.
